Luke 13:22 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
Luke 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
Luke 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Luke 13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
Luke 13:26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
Luke 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
Luke 13:28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
Lord, are there few that be saved?
Lord, are there few that be saved?
This question to Jesus got a response that all that desire to be saved must strive to enter in at the strait gate!
Jesus made it clear that there had to be an effort made to make it!
It isn't a slicky way into the kingdom of God! It's a way that takes great effort to enter.
It's also an exclusive way, unlike Orphah's way and all the New Agers, this Way, the strait gate__none other than Jesus Christ!
There are many telling the lie today that there are many roads to God and many have swallowed the lie and will find out one day that there's a hook of Satan in that belief that will bring weeping and gnashing of teeth!
There are many telling the lie today that there are many roads to God and many have swallowed the lie and will find out one day that there's a hook of Satan in that belief that will bring weeping and gnashing of teeth!
There's no striving to enter in at the strait gate for the most part in this generation.
Jesus said many would seek to enter in and would not be able to because they were seekers of some religion of man and were not willing to strive to enter in at the strait gate.
Strait means narrow, the worldly minded religious person today refuses to confess Christ Jesus as the only way! They refuse to make the effort!
Exodus 32:1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
There will be a struggle if you make it into the kingdom of God! Jesus said strive to enter in!
You can't live any way that you like or do anything that you want to do and still strive to enter in at the strait gate!
God is calling you away from all this nonesense that going on today and says: "Strive to enter in!"
While Moses, the man of God goes up to the mount to receive the Law of God, during which he didn't eat or drink while he was striving to enter into that place God was calling His people into, the people below were all making themselves gods.
In other words, they weren't making any effort that showed they were God's people!
"We don't know what happened to Moses, he's taking to long, we'll make our own way of worship!"
It's sounds like so much of what is trying to pass itself off as the Gospel! No striving, anybody can make it, just believe in yourself!
No effort! No Nothing!
G75 agōnizomai We get the word agony from this word.
ag-o-nid'-zom-ahee
From G73; to struggle, literally (to compete for a prize), figuratively (to contend with an adversary), or generally (to endeavor to accomplish something): - fight, labor fervently, strive.

Our flesh has to be crucified! And then and only then will we truly live like God intends for us to live! This life has to be lived through the Holy Spirit working in us as we are yielded to Christ Jesus!
We aren't saved by works but we are saved unto good works!
As Christ was in this world, so are we! Christ suffered in the earth and paid the untimate price for fallen man. He gave His life!
Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
No effort! No Nothing!
For Christ sake, make an effort!
